To Mama,

6 months. 6 months of being a mama.

6 months of raising a baby girl. 

6 months of navigating our new path. 

6 of the most amazing, wonderful, challenging and simply awesome 6 months. 

You did it. You’re doing it. You’re doing great. 

So today, what better day to sit down and write a letter to my angel. 

To my baby girl,

Baby girl, you have grown healthy and strong and HAPPY. You are our ray of sunshine, your toothless grin lights up the room and you’ve planted a seed of hope and love in every heart around you. You are a miracle, our gift. You’ve learned so much since you were born and it is such a bittersweet thought to think of all you will learn in the next 6 months; growing so fast, soaking up the world around you, babbling, cooing, saying Dada. 

The world can be cruel and mean. Let your smile and heart be the good and the light. Stay true to you baby girl. 

I am so proud to be your mama. As your mama, I promise to show you how to move mountains and make Sunday sauce. I promise to dance in the rain with you, wipe away your tears and sing Zip A Dee Doo Da until you’re sound asleep (regardless of how old you are). I promise to be by your side for all of your accomplishments and challenges. I promise to hear your side of the story, teach you how and when to compromise and when to hold your ground. I promise to love you always, no matter what. My hugs will always be your home baby girl.
